When is residential trash picked up?

Monday and Thursday for all residential homes

When is recycling picked up?

Recycling is picked up every Thursday. Please have recycling at the curb by 6am on Thursdays.

Where can I get recycling bins?

Recycling bins are available at the Department of Public Works, 63 Catherine Street, Nyack, NY. Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm  OR - please call the DPW at 845-358-3552 and let us know your address so we can drop the bins at your home if you are unable to pick them up during our working hours.

When are bulk items collected?

Bulk items - appliances, furniture, household goods, are collected on the first Friday of each month. Please have items at the curb by 6am and no earlier than 24 hours in advance of the collection.  Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic and disposal bags are available at our DPW, 63 Catherine St., Nyack, NY Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm OR give the DPW a call at 845-358-3552 and leave your name and address and we will be able to drop off a bag for you.

Where can I get brush bags?

Brush bags are available at the DPW, 63 Catherine St., Nyack NY  Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm or at Village Hall, 9 N. Broadway, Nyack, NY Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.  Bags are limited to 10 per visit.

What if my trash wasn't picked up?

Check the website for updates to see if there was any issues due to storms, etc. Please be sure your trash is at the curb by 6am.  Call the DPW 845-358-3552 to report any problem - be sure to leave your address.

When are brush bags picked up?

DPW's goal is to get to every home in the Village at least once per week.  The usual days for pick-up are Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays. Yard waste that doesn't fit into brush bags should be bundled and tied into 4 foot lengths. Absolutely no yard waste will be picked up in plastic bags. No dirt or rocks in the bags please.

What if no one is at the DPW when I stop there?

The crews are busy working and there is not always staff at the DPW.  We are very sorry if we missed you! Please call the office at 845-358-3552 and let us know how we can help you. Brush bags and mattress bags are available at the Village Hall - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
