New sidewalks are coming! The New York State Department of Transportation recently informed the Village that they will be installing new sidewalks at several locations along Route 9W and Route 59 in and around the Village of Nyack. The project which is scheduled for construction next summer. The following is a list of work scheduled to be done in the Village of Nyack. 

  • A new sidewalk on the west side of 9W from 5th Avenue south to the entrance to Oak Hill Cemetery. There is currently no sidewalk along this stretch of 9W.
  • Existing sidewalks on 9W will be replaced at the northern edge of the village, from Kolb Street north to Highmount Ave. in Upper Nyack and at the southern edge of the village, from Upper Depew Ave. south to Shadyside Ave. in South Nyack. 
  • An existing sidewalk on Route 59 will be replaced between Waldron Ave. in the Village of Nyack and West Broadway in Central Nyack.
  • Curb ramps will be replaced at the intersection of 9W and 5th Avenue and at the intersection of 9W and South Highland Ave.
