Memorial Day 2020

This Memorial Day weekend, we reflect on the members of the United States Armed Forces: The Army, The Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Many of those who have served in these branches have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It is in memoriam that we honor those brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers and dear friends who gave their lives to preserve our freedom and ensure our prosperity. To all the families in Nyack whose loved ones have bravely heeded the call to serve our nation, I extend my most sincere gratitude.

For the first time in many years, we are unable to celebrate the Memorial Day Parade. However, the spirit of this holiday can still be seen throughout the Village. A stroll down Main Street (masks & social distancing please) commemorates our Military with our first ever Military Tribute Banners, American Flags & Flower Baskets. Enjoy this day with your loved ones and all those close to you, as we live in a better world because of the sacrifices of many brave Americans.

It takes a Village...

Thank you to a number of generous individuals and the Nyack Parks Conservancy for the Main Street Flower Baskets. The NPC is a 501c organization, all donations are tax deductible. What better way to remember a loved one that to plant flowers in their honor! Wherever you see flowers in Nyack along the streets and in the park you will know that yours are among them. Donate here.
