This Memorial Day 2021, we pause to honor all those who have served our country, and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This weekend, enjoy all Nyack has to offer and discover some of our local heroes honored on Main Street with Military Tribute Banners. It's never to late to honor your loved ones - banners will be displayed until Veterans Day 2021. More information here.

Unfortunately, there will be no parade this year, however, a brief ceremony in Nyack Memorial Park at 11:00am will dedicate a new installation honoring Nyack resident, Jerry Donnellan, who served our country in Vietnam and dedicated his life to the service of all Veterans.

A Nyack Thank You heart

Today we say farewell to our Village Clerk-Treasurer, Jennifer Hetling. Jennifer has been instrumental in reorganizing our Village Clerk's Office, managing the Village finances and balancing the budget. Our sincere gratitude to Jennifer, you will be missed!!

Best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement to Thomas Wheeler, who served our village for over 30 years as a Parking Enforcement Agent. Thomas slipped off into retirement without a formal goodbye - but a cake is waiting when you are back in Nyack Thomas!! You will be missed and many thanks for your service. Enjoy your retirement!

What's happening in Nyack ?

There is a lot of infrastructure work underway in the village this year. Thank you to our residents for your patience and cooperation with road closures, construction crews and detours!

The Nyack Water Department is replacing water mains on select roads. Paving plans are in the progress to follow the work of the water department! The Village has signed a contract with Tilcon to repave roads above Route 9w that were disturbed by the Orange & Rockland gas main project in 2020 and the Nyack Water Department main replacement in 2021. Once we have a schedule for paving, we will provide an update.

The Pedestrian Safety Improvement Plan is underway at four intersections in the village. This project will enhance pedestrian safety with ADA compliant crosswalks, pedestrian signals, improved traffic light timing and more. It was funded entirely by the NYSDOT with a budget of $370,000. Work is scheduled to be completed by early summer.

Parking at the Nyack Marina Lot

Beginning the first week of June 2021, the Nyack Marina parking lot will be metered. Hours of metering are consistent with the rest of the village: 10am - 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Sundays and holidays are always free! Payment can be made at any of the three munimeters or on the ParkMobile App.

ParkMobile is making it even easier to pay without the app by texting "Park" to a number provided on the signs or by scanning the Q-code and following prompts. These options are being piloted in the Marina Lot and if successful, we will expand to all parking areas.

Holiday Trash Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Village Hall will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. Trash will be collected on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Parking Fees are suspended for the holiday, however, parking regulations are still in effect.

PRIDE & PROMENADE
Sunday, June 6, 2021

We're gearing up for Nyack's next Spring Fling Promenade on June 6, which will be served with a big side of PRIDE! We'll be celebrating alongside the Rockland Pride Center from 11am to 8pm with live music throughout Downtown, pop-up drag performances, hourly raffle drawings, Window Decorating Contest awards, local artists, an interactive family-friendly chalk art activity, and so much more!

The Village will close Broadway from First Avenue to Cedar Hill Avenue and Main Street from Broadway to Franklin Street to traffic, to make lots of room for businesses to expand for outdoor dining, shopping and tons of Spring Fling fun smiley
