I hope this message finds you well at the end of an eventful holiday season. From the successful Holiday Promenade to our many decorative shop and restaurant displays, Nyack has been a center of joy and optimism this past year.

Like so many others, I am eager to spend the New Year holiday with family and friends. However, we must remain vigilant in the midst of a Covid-19 surge. The Omicron variant has proven to be highly transmissible, but vaccines and boosters provide a critical defense against Covid-19's most volatile symptoms. Schedule a vaccine or booster appointment today!

If you are planning to meet with others this holiday weekend, please consider a smaller celebration with those who are vaccinated and boosted.

Please continue to follow all Covid protocols: If you feel sick, stay home; wear a mask in public indoor spaces; social distance when possible; practice good hygiene.

As we finish another year of pandemic life, I am asking that we unite as a community once again and do everything possible to defeat this virus. The sacrifice is small, but the gains are monumental.

Wishing you and your loved ones health and happiness in 2022.

- Don Hammond
