Labor Day Holiday Schedule

  • Village Hall and Nyack DPW will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
  • Trash will be collected on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
  • Parking fees suspended for the holiday, all other parking regulations in effect.
  • Enjoy the holiday weekend!



News from the Nyack Parking Authority

The River Space Parking Lot now has a "One Hour Free" parking policy for 15 parking spaces along the east side of the parking lot.

Each "One Hour Free" spot is clearly marked. ALL other parking spaces are metered parking from 10am to 7pm, Monday thru Saturday. Payment can be made with the ParkMobile app (Zone 7544) or at the parking muni-meters, located on the NE and SE corners of the lot.

This updated parking policy is effective August 30, 2023.


Hometown Heroes Remembrance 9-11-23 at 6pm in Memorial Park.

Please join us as we remember our local residents lost to the terror attacks of 9-11-01, and our first responders who have suffered illness or death from their heroic response.


Depew Ave Road Resurfacing Project

On Wednesday, 9/6/23, Depew Ave is scheduled for a road resurfacing project by Gorman Industries.

The project will start at the gate of Memorial Park and finish west at S. Franklin Street. Thank you for your patience and cooperation with the paving projects!

  • Free OVERNIGHT/DAYTIME Parking will be available in the Marina Lot and the Artopee Way Lot.
  • On S. Broadway from Burd St to Hudson Ave, and Piermont Ave adjacent to Memorial Park - overnight parking will be permitted during construction.
  • Expect intermittent road closures during the construction.
  • Access to driveways and side streets may be temporarily restricted during construction.
  • Please observe all posted parking restrictions and avoid travel on Depew Ave during construction.

Capital Projects Update

Summer is construction and paving season in the Village and we have accomplished a lot this year, with more to come! Here's a recap:

  • Beautiful new sidewalks on Burd St and parts of Cedar St, fully funded from Rockland County's Community Development Block Grant Program.
  • Broadway Streetscape Project is nearing completion, the finishing touches include new trash and recycling bins, tree guards, and completion of the drainage project at First Ave.
  • Marina Lighting and Landscaping Projects have been completed.
  • The "Safe Routes to School" sidewalk project on Depew Ave, Summit St, and Main St is moving through the design and approval process, click here for all the details.
  • Our CDBG Committee is currently meeting and generating ideas for our 2024 grant application.
  • The "American Rescue Plan Act" awards from Rockland County for Memorial Park improvements are in the final design stages, click here for more information.
  • Happening this Fall: Nyack Marina Lot repaving and a new CDBG Project on S. Broadway sidewalks from Burd St to Depew Ave (west side).


An Important Recycling Message from Rockland Green:

If you accidentally put an item in your recycle bin that is NOT recyclable (plastic bags, hoses or cables) the Rockland Green "Feet on the Street" Team will put an Oops! tag on your bin, letting you know what item was not acceptable.
